The Whalesong Project is in its ninth year of streaming the songs of the whales in Kihei Harbor over the web.
Unfortunately, donations to support the project have declined dramatically this season. As you know, we are a volunteer organization; we have been operating on about $15,000 or less per year, or about $40 per day. With the economy the way it is we are all challenged, and The Whalesong Project is no exception. We are doing everything we can to keep our work going because we think it is important. Every single dollar and every donation matters to keep the project going another day. We have big dreams of what The Whalesong Project can accomplish, but for now, maintaining the buoy, the hydrophone and the website through 2009 will be an achievement.
