During our first season we used a boat to deploy the Whalesong hydrophone. "Aye aye Cap'n, thar she blows!" It got to be a little too expensive to maintain a boat just for hanging a hydrophone over the side, so in subsequent seasons we have used a buoy system. Photos above are of the original Whalesong boat and first season volunteers.
